Ecosphere
Lauren Berkowitz
2019

Sustainability meets art in this commission by installation artist Lauren Berkowitz. Using post-consumer plastic waste from the Monash Clayton campus, Berkowitz has created a dysfunctional architectural ecosphere. Columns of clustered bottles, lids and take away food containers swing wildly in the open air of the Monash MPavilion, creating a symphony of rustling and crashing plastic debris. Berkowitz has created a fantastical landscape of the imagination that is also frighteningly precarious and fragile.
