co-facilitated with Pip Jones

The shrine to conversation is a participatory performance-based installation, creating a social mind-map of the audience’s experience, past and future. Throughout three or four evenings during the festival, the shrine is created through interactions between the project facilitators and the general public. Participants are invited to participate in the work through drawn thoughts on large sheets of paper. These thoughts are reached through dialogue with whitecubed’s facilitators, creating an atmosphere of involved art making.

Working with the facilitators, the paper is folded into sonobe origami modules to be displayed. Each night of performance the shrine is added to and grows to become a collective memory, a shared vision of the future, a collaborative anthology created in direct response to the festival environment.
